Photo of the Week – Turtle Bay Beach, Akumal, Mexico

Turtle Bay Beach, Akumal, Mexico

These spectacular pictures of poncie.com on the beach were taken by Real Estate Broker Violet Havard of Havard Real Estate and her husband Jay Havard last week. This beach is located in the town of Akumal, The Mayan Rivera,  The beach is called turtle bay.  The word Akumal means Turtle in Mayan language.  The turtles lay their eggs there and every year the Americans that live there make sure the hatch lings migrate back to the ocean.  It is a big thing down there.  The turtles are so friendly that they swim with you.  It is not uncommon to have at least 5-6 turtles around you while you are snorkeling. Way too cool!!! You might want to mentions for those looking to rent a beach house there, they can go to Vacation rentals by owner http://www.VRBO.com and search for Mexico, Akumal. There are plenty of villas and condos to rent. We like to go to http://www.locogringo.com to see all the homes for rent and the latest news.
